CEHD rolled out the red carpet for Alumni Weekend 2014
We kicked off the celebration on Friday with a College Reception, recognizing our Shining Stars — June 6 from 6-8 p.m. in the Alison Hall courtyard.
Alumni and friends strolled up the red carpet, where they were greeted by faculty and staff. The weather was picture perfect, providing the ideal backdrop to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Alumni shared memories of their time at UD and updated faculty members on their career paths. The evening ended with the presentation of a lovely UD-themed picnic basket.
Lynn Okagaki, dean, honored alumni and faculty who had received recognition for outstanding achievements in their field, by presenting them with a blue and gold egg sculpture. Shining Stars included:
- Susan Bunting
- Edward Cohen
- Tim Dalby
- Sherry Kijowski
- Mary Pinkston
- Allen Prettyman
- Ali McDonough
- Amanda Jansen
- Jill Szymanski

Over 300 children and families attended, clamoring for face painting, food and bounce houses. Jungle John, Dora the Explorer, YoUDee and Baby Blue provided live entertainment.
Staff from the College of Education and Human Development’s Children’s Campus coordinated arts & crafts, Jazzercise, story time, math and finance activities and a Parenting Resources table.
