The Delaware Department of Education is the state agency responsible for establishing, monitoring, and managing education policy and practices for grades preK-12.

We do this through engaging families and communities, retaining a high quality workforce, providing rigorous standards, instruction, and assessments, and by maintaining safe and healthy environments where every learner has equitable access to a world class education.

The specific duties of the Office of Equity and Innovation include reducing barriers to learning through the implementation of practices that are trauma-informed, restorative, and culturally responsive so children and youth are engaged in equitable and just ways to explore their passions in the pursuit of purpose, place, and plans for the future.
