Nominate yourself or a colleague for one of CEHD’s alumni awards!

DEADLINE EXTENDED to MARCH 22, 2017.

Our alumni make remarkable contributions to the community–educating students of all ages, leading community organizations and public agencies, and giving back to our students at UD.

In 2017, CEHD created 4 awards to recognize our alumni for their commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.

  1. Excellence in Education Award: This award is given to alumni who have made a significant long-term contribution and commitment to their schools or organizations through creative and innovative teaching practices, their ability to inspire students and families, or their creative work in community organizations that directly supports children and families.
  2. Leadership and Community Service Award: This award is given to alumni who have made a substantive contribution to leadership in educational settings, communities, or their chosen professions.
  1. Service to CEHD Award:This award is given to alumni who have demonstrated substantial commitment to the mission of the college through the giving of time, talent and resources that advance the college mission.
  2. New Graduate Award: An award for recent graduates (no more than 10 years postdoctoral) who have distinguished themselves in their chosen professions or communities.

Award Process

Nominations will be open each year January 2 – March 15 (extended to March 22). You can submit your own nomination or recommend a friend or colleague. CEHD faculty/staff are encouraged to nominate our alumni as well.

The letter of nomination should detail the nominee’s strengths relative to the criteria listed above. Please include your name, title/employer and contact information as well as that of your nominee (email, phone and city/state where your nominee lives). Send your nomination letter to Ann Draper, Administrative Assistant to the Dean, adraper@udel.edu, with the Subject Line: CEHD Alumni Award Submission.

Nominations will be evaluated by the College Council. In future years, previous awardees will be invited to participate in the selection process.

Awards will be presented at the CEHD Alumni Reception during UD’s Alumni Weekend.
