CEHD Alumni Reception

Conversation, cuisine and cocktails  Join us in Perkins student lounge to reunite with faculty and classmates, enjoy a delicious menu and learn about the programs we offer that are helping make a difference in the world.

Alumni Awards will be presented in 4 categories: Excellence in Education, Leadership and Community Service, Service to CEHD and New Graduate Award.

The musical entertainment will feature the Blue Hen Jazz Trio, headed by local favorite Sam Nobles.

The menu this year takes on a Mexican theme with a fajita action station, chorizo empanadas and  shrimp cocktail shooters. The signature drink will be margaritas, paired with margarita lime cupcakes and chocolate dipped macaroons for dessert!

The reception is free, but you must register for the event through Alumni Weekend.

Learning in the GREAT Outdoors

Sat., June 2, 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Alumni, families and children are invited to join our “open-air” activity stations on The Green as we integrate nature, art, music and fun.

Young explorers will enjoy our nature-based art projects and activities, while parents and teachers learn how UD’s Children’s Campus is incorporating outdoor experiences into their curriculum.

Program hosted by UD’s Children’s Campus: The College School, the Laboratory Preschool and the Early Learning Center.

 

Orthopedics in Action

Orthopedics in Action (OIA) is a unique, hands-on activity that features real-world challenges from orthopedic surgery and biomedical engineering. Explore the world of broken bones and x-rays with amazing hands on fracture puzzles.

Students and faculty in the departments of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering partnered with CEHD’s Profession Development Center for Educators to create a classroom materials designed to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering and medicine. The curriculum is being used in over 200 middle and high school classrooms nationwide. This event will give you a preview of what all of the fuss is about!

Appropriate for children 8 and up.
