CEHD Announces Four Appointments

CEHD would like to congratulate Joan Buttram, Ralph Ferretti, Cynthia Paris and Carol Vukelich on their new appointments this summer.  

Joan L. Buttram has been appointed Center Director of Delaware Education Research & Development Center, effective September 1.2012, Joan has served as interim director since 2009 and has been with the University for five years.

Ralph Ferretti, professor, School of Education, has been named Director of the School of Education, effective September 1. During the remainder of the summer, Ralph will be working closely with Bob Hampel, interim SOE director, to provide a smooth transition during this change in leadership.

Cynthia Paris, associate professor, HDFS, has been appointed Director of the Laboratory Preschool. This position was previously held by Peg Bradley, who will remain director of ELC Newark and Wilmington. A second directorship was created to accommodate the increasing responsibility that accompanied the growth of our children’s campus programs. 

Carol Vukelich has been appointed Deputy Dean for our college, effective July 1. Carol is the director of Delaware Center for Teacher Education and the Hammonds Professor in Teacher Education. In addition to her responsibilities as deputy dean, she will continue to serve as director of DCTE and her office will remain at 200 Academy Street.
