HDFS Student Wins Volunteer of the Year Award

For the past 10 years, Special Olympics has played a large and important part in  Kylie Melvin’s life.  She has served as a Unified Partner and coach for Newark Lightning, a member of the Delaware Youth Activation Committee and promotes Project Unify. On Oct. 6, Melvin attended the “Night of Heroes” awards ceremony where she was presented with their Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award. At age 21 she is the youngest person to ever receive the honor.
