On Sept. 27, 2016, UD’s President Assanis and Dr. Stefanos Gialamas, president of the ACS Athens (American Community Schools), signed an agreement between CEHD and ACS.

ACS Athens is an international primary and secondary school with approximately 900 students. It serves a diverse student population of more than 56 nationalities, giving UD’s CEHD students the opportunity to gain a truly global perspective on education.

As a result of this new partnership, CEHD will offer opportunities to our undergraduate and graduate students to travel to Greece to student teach, serve internships and conduct research.

Additional partnerships are being formed with the University of Patras and the University of Athens, to allow visiting scholars from both countries to collaborate on the development of curriculum, instruction and research initiatives benefiting early childhood education.

Additional opportunities for student teaching abroad will be finalized in 2017, including Volterra, Italy and the Cayman International School in Grand Cayman.
