As Easy as A-P-P

Faculty from UD’s School of Education have been working to increase academic achievement in the classroom by incorporating technology into the curriculum.   St. Edmond’s Academy in Wilmington had introduced Apple iPads into its classrooms, but the teachers were uncertain about the best methods to use the technology. 

Patricia Scott, principal of St. Edmond’s and CEHD alumna, read about an initiative integrating the use of iPads in urban schools in a UDaily article last summer and invited SOE faculty to provide her teachers with additional support to make the most of the technology.

Chrystalla Mouza, associate professor, Fred Hofstetter, professor, and Rachel Karchmer-Klein, associate professor, all in the School of Education, met with Scott to implement a hands-on learning mechanism for grades 6-8 at the all-boys school.
