DASL’s Brittingham finalist for iEducate Delaware Award

Dr. Sharon Brittingham, a development coach at the Delaware Academy for School Leadership, is a finalist for the iEducate Delaware Award.

Up to five awardees will be recognized at this year’s Vision 2015 conference on October 9, 2013. You can show your support for Dr. Brittingham and other nominees by voting up to three times per day for the same or different nominees.

Brittingham is graduate of the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program and has been a Delaware educator for over 40 years.  She has been Delaware’s National Distinguished Elementary Principal. The school where she was principal, Frankford Elementary School in the Indian River School District, was recognized by the USDOE as a National Blue Ribbon School. She was also recognized by Education Trust for leading students of poverty to high academic achievement.

Currently at DASL, Brittingham is leading the Race to the Top Development Coach Project. She supervises eight coaches who work with teachers to implement the DPAS II (teacher evaluation system) to improve the quality of teaching. The coaches work with over 80 principals. For the past two years, Brittingham has led training for DPAS II, and she is also an adjunct faculty member in the ARTC program.

The iEducation Delaware Award is given by the Rodel Foundation to promote and support the champions of excellent education.
