County of Chester PA, Health Department

The Chester County Health Department is a county public health agency for the County of Chester PA. The mission of Chester County Health Department is to provide personal and environmental health services to residents and visitors so that they may grow, live, and work in healthy and safe communities. To advance this mission, the Chester County Health Department provides services, sets policies, and enforces laws to support the health of all Chester County residents and visitors.

The Chester County Health Department is responsible for providing important day-to-day health services including, but not limited to, personal health services to under- and uninsured residents, outbreak control and management for a variety of reportable diseases, chronic disease prevention, food protection, vector control and regulation of sewage and water.

In addition, the Chester County Health Department is also the lead agency to protect the public’s health in response to natural disasters, bioterrorism, and infectious disease outbreaks.
