Delaware Youth Leadership Network (DYLN)

Founded in 2012, the Delaware Youth Leadership Network (DYLN) is an unprecedented leadership program for high school juniors which focuses on defining opportunities, networking and engagement. We provide a forum for students to meet inspirational speakers and mentors, develop key life skills and network with like-minded peers. Our speakers have included business executives, entrepreneurs, judges, Olympic athletes, teachers, non-profit founders and the Governor and First Lady of Delaware to name just a few. The unique DYLN curriculum includes interactive, experiential activities that challenge DYLN Scholars to get out of their comfort zone and improve professional skills. The student experience also includes a mentoring component, team project, and community service.

This year, we have 27 DYLN Scholars, from 22 different high schools in New Castle County, including public, private, charter, vo-tech and parochial schools. Our monthly program sessions follow the school year and generally run from September through April. We are a registered 501c-3 organization. Please visit our website to learn more: dyln.net.

From the words of our graduates:

“Every single person, from the founders, to the mentors, to the peer mentors, is one hundred percent invested in not only the program but also in you …When you join DYLN you join a team. Your team.” DYLN ‘14

“I just wanted to … the DYLN program for teaching me so much about leadership, the value of getting involved in the community, and most importantly – interviewing. It has led me a long way and I would not be the same person without being able to take part in such a amazing opportunity.” DYLN ‘13
