KIDS COUNT in Delaware (University of Delaware)

Because kids are so important to our collective long-term success, it’s imperative that we measure and understand conditions in which they live so that we can invest our time, effort and resources in ways that will ensure the best return for us all. By providing the best data available about kids in the state, the goal of KIDS COUNT in Delaware is to help organizations make data driven decisions and evaluate outcomes to progress toward their goals; to keep agencies informed and responsive to changing and emerging needs; and to assess where we can better focus collective energy in order to achieve better results. After all, children are 25% of our population, but 100% of our future.

KIDS COUNT, a project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is a national and state-by-state effort to track the status of children in the United States. By providing policy makers and citizens with benchmarks of child well-being, KIDS COUNT seeks to enrich local and state discussion concerning ways to secure better lives for all children. The project here in Delaware is a collaborative effort of over forty organizations that is housed within the Center for Community Research & Service at the University of Delaware.
