Shorehaven Inc. is a community based agency serving the educational and residential needs of children and adults identified as having autism, intellectual and/or multiple disabilities with significant behavioral complexities. Our main site, located at 1040 Singerly Road in Elkton, houses our corporate office, Shorehaven School and our Day Habilitation program.
Shorehaven School provides a 220 day nonpublic special education program for students, ages 6 through 21, identified as having autism, intellectual and/or multiple disabilities. The program focuses on the academic, vocational, behavioral and social development of the students served. Curriculum addresses functional academics and vocational experience training. Individual educational programs (IEP) and behavioral management programs are developed to meet the students’ individual needs.
The Shorehaven Residential Program encompasses eight community-based group homes, located in Chesapeake City and Elkton, which provide 24-hour supervision to five or six individuals. Programming focuses on ADL and leisure skill development with opportunities for community interaction.
The Shorehaven Day Habilitation Program provides adult individuals the opportunity to participate in activities related to the development of requisite vocational skills, recreation, leisure, activities of daily living and community based outings.
Based on their individual strengths, needs and preferences, specific individualized programs are developed and are implemented daily.
