CEHD Center Featured for Successful Partnership and Improved Literacy Outcomes in Maryland

In a recent article, The Cecil Whig highlighted Cecil County Public Schools’ use of Bookworms, an elementary literacy curriculum developed by College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Professor Sharon Walpole. The article emphasizes how continued partnership with CEHD’s School Success Center and the Bookworms curriculum—which makes use of a multi-tiered system for assessing and supporting students in their literacy development—helped improve literacy outcomes.

As a result of this partnership, Cecil County Public Schools recently hosted a two-day Literacy Learning Lab for other educators in Maryland and is recognized as a model for other schools.
